about Maurllan

Once upon a time (which is now, was then, and will be again), there was an Author of Certain Books. Some say he emerged fully formed from the collision of a military base, a server room, and a particularly feisty typewriter known as the big Bang! Others claim he's the result of a mad scientist's experiment to create the perfect blend of romance, humor, and existential dread.

Whatever his origins, what's certain is that he wields words like magick, turning ordinary sentences into portals to extraordinary worlds. This Author now spends his days crafting tales that make reality question its own existence. Aided by his trusty sidekicks - an Editor with more degrees than a thermometer and a coffee mug Familiar that's been known to critique his prose - he weaves stories that are equal parts love letter and cosmic joke.

When not engaged in literary alchemy, turning lead sentences into golden narratives, he can be found:

  • Attempting to deadlift his own ego (it's heavier than you'd think)
  • Serenading bumblebees with acoustic renditions of obscure 80s power ballads
  • Training to become the Strongest Romance Author in the English Language (and possibly several alien ones)

Caution: Reading his books may cause you to question the nature of your own reality, develop a sudden appreciation for metafiction, and an inexplicable craving for chocolate-covered plot twists.

The Author welcomes encouragement, but advises against trying to write yourself into the margins of his stories. That rarely ends well... or does it? Only one way to find out!

etymology

Maurllan. (Prononcé / Pronounced Mar•Law•on.)

Maur + Llano, Prénom masculin. • Saint Maur (v. 512 - v. 584). Abbé bénédictin. Disciple du fondateur de l'ordre des Bénédictins, Saint Benoît de Nursie. • Llano. Vaste plaine herbeuse en Amérique du Sud. Ce nom combine l'imagerie de la tradition monastique européenne et des paysages naturels sud-américains.

Maurllan is a name composed of two word roots. "Maur" comes from an Old European root associated with Saint Maur (c. 512-584 CE), a Benedictine monk and disciple of Saint Benedict of Nursia, the founder of the Benedictine order. "Llan" is derived from the South American Spanish word "Llano," meaning "vast plain." This name combines imagery from European monastic tradition and South American natural landscapes.
