Belinda

Anne Rice writing as Anne Rampling

"'Who was she?' That was the first thought that came into my mind when I saw her in the bookstore. Jody, the publicist, pointed her out. 'Catch your devoted fan over there,' she said. 'Goldilocks.' Goldilocks, yes, she had hair like that, absolutely right, down to her shoulders. But who was she really…"

Nomads of Gor

John Norman

"'Run!' cried the woman. 'Flee for your life!' I saw her eyes wild with fear for a moment above the rep-cloth veil and she had sped past me. She was peasant, barefoot, her garment little more than coarse sacking. She had been carrying a wicker basket containing vulos, domesticated pigeons…"

The Man Sitting in the Corridor

Marguerite Duras, Barbara Bray (Translator, French to English)

"The man might be sitting in the shade of the corridor, looking through the open door. He's looking at a woman lying a few yards away on a path made of stones. Around them is a garden falling steeply to a plain, a rolling, treeless plain, fields bordering a river…"

Unbridled

by Maurllan

"Once upon a time there was a sultan who collected concubines but never married even one of them, and while all the concubines lived opulently, the sultan had kept his secret why he would never consummate with any of them. Each would take her turn with him on a given evening. There would be hugging, snuggling, kisses…"

"Hot and Tasty. Hot and steamy reads, would prefer one story right through but great reading."
-Miss P
"The stories are articulated with bright imagery. A mini movie is expressed within each. A welcome escape is in these pages."
-Tiffany W
"There is something for everyone’s tastes in this little gem. Sexy, titillating, intelligent, imaginative and even vulnerable at times."

Imagine a collection of premium chocolate nibbles.

These short stories were inspired by some of the even shorter fantasies in J. Aphrodite's book To Turn You On : 39 Sex Fantasies for Women, 1985 edition published by Bell Publishing Company, which I was fortunate to find on a dusky book shelf in a used book store back in the 90s. The title was originally published in 1975.

My copy has an intense red hardback binding with black lettering on the spine. If there was originally a dust jacket, the jacket must have been torn in a moment of passion and subsequently discarded.

While inspired, I, of course, felt challenged to write vignettes which I hope you enjoy even more.

"THIS NOVEL IS DEDICATED TO ME."

-Anne Rice

"As I mused, Talena stepped forth from behind the silk curtain. I had thought she had retired. Instead, she stood before me in the diaphanous, scarlet dancing silks of Gor. She had rouged her lips. My head swam at the sudden intoxicating scent of a wild perfume. Her olive ankles bore dancing bangles with tiny bells. Attached to the thumb and index finger of each hand were tiny finger cymbals. She bent her knees ever so slightly and raised her arms gracefully above her head. There was a sudden bright clash of the finger cymbals, and, to the music of the nearby tent, Talena, daughter of the Ubar of Ar, began to dance for me. "

"You were so uptight these days that you always seemed on the verge of jumping out of your skin. You wanted to break out and free yourself emotionally, but you were having such a hard time. Lately, every therapy session was the same. You kept telling Doctor Simon that you wanted to 'open up' and he kept urging you to. 'Just do it,' he'd say. 'But what should I do?' you'd counter."
